Texaco Diesel Chief Porcelain Sign  The bottom-left corner features the clear stamp 3-11-61, dating its manufacture precisely to March 11, 1961.  It features the classic red Texaco T-star logo showering downward into a distinct fuel injector spray pattern.  Marked "MADE IN U.S.A." on the bottom right corner.  These single-sided, heavy porcelain enamel plates were originally bolted directly onto service station gas pumps to identify the fuel grade, this one diesel.  Grumps Collectibles So-Cal.
