General Petroleum Shipping Crate Wood  In good shape for the age, does have some cracking (see pictures) and nails are a bit loose.  1920s era.  they were a prominent California-based oil company that eventually became part of Mobil.  Established in 1910 in California as the Consolidated Oil Company, it was renamed General Petroleum Corporation in 1912.  In 1926, it was acquired by the Standard Oil Company of New York (Socony).  Socony eventually merged with Vacuum Oil to become Socony-Vacuum, which later rebranded as Mobil.  Grumps Collectibles So-Cal.
